KENZA MEDJNOUN كنزة مجنون

(b. in 2002) is a multidisciplinary artist, currently a student at villa arson, whose practice explores the use of North African diasporic signs and symbols through language, music, and objects. Rooted in their Algerian heritage, they investigate the dynamics of migration, nostalgia, and exoticism, notably through the palm tree, a symbol of displacement and longing for belonging.
As djin Arezki (cheb in transition), they traces their journey by playing with poetry across various mediums. Their collages become a tool for analyzing the transnational shifts-South/North, North/South-that permeate their daily life and that of their loved ones, allowing them to capture the intimate and political affects embedded within. Their approach, imbued with nostalgia and futurism, weaves fantastical narratives of migration, resilience, and the search for self.
